The teaching philosophy at Lines Dance Studio is best expressed in Ana’s own words…
At Lines Dance Studio, it is our goal to teach the correct fundamentals of dance to everyone in our community. We believe if you have a correct foundation then everything else flows perfectly. We don’t teach or expect our students to duplicate our style. Instead, we teach our students that each of them has their own natural essence, which they are encouraged to discover. Most importantly, we encourage our students to enjoy themselves. After all, salsa is about having a good time.
We offer classes for beginners to advanced, from Salsa to Cumbia Sonidera and Zumba. Why not give Lines Dance Studio a try? Check out our new student discount tab and join us. We’ll be happy to see you!
If you have any questions please call Anita at 503-547-4872.

Creative Director/Salsa Instructor/Choreographer/Performer
Ana, who grew up in Puebla, Mexico, started dancing at the age of 12. She studied ballet folkorico for six years, performing in various theaters across the country. During that time, Ana not only learned to dance, she also learned that it takes hard work and discipline to improve one’s art on the dance floor – a lesson she continues to pass along to her own students. At age 13, she learned the Cumbia, and in just a short time was widely regarded as one of the best Cumbia dancers in the state of Puebla.
In 1990, Ana and her parents moved to Wenatchee, Washington. There, she persuaded her local church to form a ballet folklorico dance group. In 1991, she moved to Oregon and began volunteering her time to help teenagers in her community, a passion she still shares to this day.
At the start of 1993, Ana taught choreography her first Quinceñera (the Hispanic version of a young girl’s coming out party). Today, Ana is known throughout her hometown of Hillsboro as a professional party planner, and is the only Quinceñera planner to offer chambelanes for hire.
